ACE Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine Institute 18th Abebe Bikila Day International Peace Marathon & Half

Join us for the ACE Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine Institute 18th Abebe Bikila Day International Peace Marathon & Half on September 14, 2024. We welcome 300 individual entries, and you can also participate as a sponsor. Bronze sponsorship is $250, Silver sponsorship is $500, and Gold sponsorship is $1000, which includes a complimentary entry. All donations are tax-deductible. As a sponsor, you can send or deliver 300 copies of your menu, advertising flyer, coupon, or business card to be included in our souvenir bags.

The event will feature a full marathon starting at 8:00 AM and a half marathon starting at 9:00 AM. The courses are flat, scenic, and offer beautiful views of the Potomac River. The route is tree-lined and shaded, providing a pleasant running experience. Both races will start and finish at Fletcher's Cove, located at 4940 Canal Road NW, Washington DC.

The courses are USATF certified, with the full marathon course certified as DC09005RT. You can find the course maps and elevation profiles on our website. The highest point on the course is 44m above sea level, and the lowest point is 12m above sea level. Enjoy a lovely day on the C&O Canal Towpath and learn about the historic C&O Canal before and after the race.

Parking at Fletcher's Cove is limited, so we encourage participants to park off-site to leave spaces available for the general public. Off-site parking options include the River School entrance on Reservoir Road, W Street, Bending Lane, Hutchins Place off Reservoir Road, Palisades Library, Our Lady of Victory School, and CVS/pharmacy.

For participants staying at our host hotel, Crystal City Marriott, we offer round-trip Red Top Cab rides to Fletcher's Cove for only $10.00. The cab departs at 7:00 AM on race day and arrives at Fletcher's Cove around 7:20 AM. After you finish the race, we arrange Red Top Cab rides back to the hotel for groups of four finishers. Please register for the taxi service in advance.
