About the Event
The Uptown Chalk the Block 5K race returns for its 5th year. It will take place on Sunday July 28th at 9:00am. Start of the race will be at Union St. Playground (347 W. Union St., Somerset, PA 15501) with a finish Uptown in the heart of the event!
The proceeds benefit Somerset, Inc., a non-profit community revitalization organization with numerous holistic endeavors including building renovations, uptown art, promotions of local businesses, & events throughout the year like Uptown Chalk the Block!
Race Info:
The course will begin the same as in past years but has been adjusted so that the finish will be on Main Street right in the midst of the artwork and excitement of the event. The route is along level to sloping residential streets near Somerset Playground.
- There will be a separate start for walkers immediately following the start of the run.
- Registrations received by July 12th are guaranteed an event tee shirt with exclusive 5k design.
- Day of Registrations are available, shirt not guaranteed.
- Awards for Top 3 Overall Finishers Male / Female - Run / Walk.
- Award for top finisher in each age group Male / Female - Run / Walk.
- Age Groups: 10 & under, 11-15, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+
