Acerca del Evento
Confident S.O.L.E. is a non-profit organization focused on empowering middle and high school girls in Kalamazoo to develop a positive self-perception. Our initiatives including enrichment workshops, Leaders In Training program, and educational opportunities like the Historically Black College University (HBCU) tour, are designed to provide girls with essential skills in self-confidence, academic achievement, leadership, financial management, and more.
Your participation in the Roll On 5K event will help us in our mission to attend our annual HBCU tour and increase awareness about Ataxia, a degenerative neurological condition that impacts over 150,000 individuals in the United States. One of our former scholars at Confident S.O.L.E. was diagnosed with Ataxia in 2019.
In support of International Ataxia Awareness Day, Confident S.O.L.E. is hosting the Inaugural 5K ‘Roll On’ event to raise funds for our annual HBCU Tour and increase awareness of Ataxia. Participants are encouraged to complete the 5K using micro mobility non-motorized wheels like wheelchairs, bikes, strollers, roller skates, and more.
Participants will have access to refreshments during registration but we will also feature a variety of healthy food options, live music, and vendor booths. Contributions in the form of donations are encouraged, with all proceeds directed towards our annual Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) tour.
