Bell Ringer 5 Hour

Some pretty awesome single track trail awaits your feet at the Bell Ringer 5 Hour Run/Hike. The Shannondale Valley just north of Thornhill, Manitoba boast some serious elevation to test your mind and body. With 100 meters of elevation per 4 ish KM loop you will soon find yourself searching deep within to only find out that maybe your bell has been rung!!

RACE NOTICE

Dates/Times:
• September 21, 2024 (Saturday), 10am-3pm
• Race day sign-in and bib collection, 845am-945am
• Pre-race meeting at 945am
• Registration will close September 1, 2024
o We will allow walk up registrations till 930am on race day

Race Format:
• Race course will officially open with the starting bell at 10am
• 4-5 km single track trail, mostly dirt, grass and some rocks/stones
o 100 meters of elevation per lap
• GOAL, try to complete as many laps as your body and mind can handle over 5 hours.
• There will be officials at the start and end (same spot) of each lap recording your bib number and start and finish time of each lap.
• Course will be marked with a combination of arrows, tape and flags.
• There are a number of switch backs on the course that come really close to each other that could be used to shorten the laps, AKA, cheating!! Shame on you if you cheat, actually you are only cheating yourself!! Cheating will not be tolerated, you will be asked to leave the race venue immediately.

What’s Provided?:
• Hat OR touque with a paid registration by Aug 25, 2024 An event sticker!
• Portable bathrooms
• Tents/shelters
• Food
o Endurance type snacks like gummies, honey stingers, chips, donuts, etc
o Endurance type drinks like Tail Wind, Nuun, water. This is a cupless event!
• We are working on a post race BBQ of either burgers/hotdogs
• First Aid responder on site

• Pitch a tent on site **please notify race director of your intentions**
• Many hotels in the Winkler/Morden area
• Morden is 10 minutes from race venue
• Winkler is 20 minutes from race venue

Registration:
• $85 for ages 12+
• $40 for ages 11- Boundary Trails Nordic Junior Development (JD) Team thanks you for your participation in this event. Proceeds from event will be used to offset travel costs associated with racing out of province in Canada and the USA.
