It's Back! If you were there last year, you know how fun this community event was! Runners from across Toronto and Ontario will come together again on December 8th, 2024 to race one last time in 2024. All in support of the wonderful work that is being done by Community Centre 55 ! This is an end-of-season race that is an opportunity for the entire Toronto run community to come together and celebrate another year of running, friendly competition, and community. Come fa-la-la-la-long for the fun! We have an amazing prize structure set up to support your fundraising efforts, with excellent prizes being awarded for every donation of $50 or more. Personal Best Awards - So you might not be in the running for a podium but we have a goal for you to chase! If you PB we will have a special extra treat for you so be sure to enter your current PB at registration to qualify. Fun Kids Race - Not only can parents run with their kids but we will also have a hype squad and pacers to make sure the our littlest runners have an awesome and safe race experience! Post-Race Hangout - Join us in the Warming Area to socialize, grab a snack, check out swag and giveaways from our Sponsor tables, and show off your medal during our post-race party. Nutritious snacks and hydration will be available to participants to replenish your energy. All Runners Celebrated - We won’t forget about the back-of-the-pack crowd! The final participant to cross the finish line will be escorted across and receive a special prize to celebrate their accomplishment. We're pleased to announce that the BLACKTOE HOLIDAY 10K is an Athletics Ontario Sanctioned Race event. As such, you can be assured that technical course operations will be managed by a professional race management team.
Race Kit Pickup BlackToe Running Midtown – 2488 Yonge Street ( Direction s ) Wednesday, December 4 (11:00 am - 6:30 pm) Thursday, December 5 (11:00 am - 6:30 pm) BlackToe Running King West – 95 Bathurst Street ( Directions ) Friday, December 6 (11:00 am - 6:30 pm) Saturday, December 7 (10:00 am - 5:30 pm) **For team packet pick-ups, please email us with all team members' full names, D.O.B., the store you plan to pick up at, and the day you plan to come. **Race Day Kit Pick-up is ONLY available to participants who reside outside the GTA from 7:30 - 8:30 am on race morning and will be located at the race start area. Race Site & Start/Finish Located at 2-10 Alfresco Lawn Picnic Shelter at the south end of Kew Gardens just east of the lawn bowling. The Start/Finish will be on the paved Martin Goodman Trail with the course heading west. Getting There TTC - We encourage all participants to ride the TTC to the race site. The Queen streetcar stops at Bellefair Ave. in front of Kew Gardens, after which it's a short walk south to the race site. RideShare - Rideshare drop-off can be set for 2-10 Alfresco Lawn if you come early. However, as Lee Ave and other streets are single lane, they tend to get congested as more runners arrive. It's recommended that you are dropped off on Queen St. E. and walk 10 minutes south on Lee Ave. Parking - Ample free street parking is available on Lee Ave., Leuty Ave., Wineva Ave., and all other north/south streets north of Alfresco Lawn and Hubbard Blvd. Paid parking is also available on Queen St. E. Course - The race will take place on the Martin Goodman Trail heading west from Kew-Balmy Beach and then south on Leslie St. It then goes west on Unwin Ave. into the Outer Harbour Marina entrance for a turnaround before heading back. This is always a shared path with the public, but there will be course markings and marshals on course. Race Morning Schedule 7:30 am Race site opens. 9:00 am 1k Kids Run 9:15 am 10k Race Aid Stations Water will be on site at the Start/Finish to keep all runners and volunteers well-hydrated. An Aid Station will be available on the course outbound and inbound. Event Medical Certified event medics from Odyssey Event Medical will be at the Start/Finish and mobile on the course to make sure you're safe and attend to any unforeseen medical needs. Weather The event will take place rain, snow, or shine. However, participant safety is first and foremost in our planning. In race week, the days leading up to race day and on race morning, race management will be closely monitoring the weather forecast for any elements that may affect the event or the course. All participants will receive an Event Alert System notification e-mail informing them of weather and course conditions for race morning. If there is concern, plans will be adjusted accordingly to ensure participants' health and safety. Volunteers Needed May be you'd like to join the party but don't want to run. Why not become a course volunteer? Hand out water or monitor a key corner to point runners in the right direction.
