Breakup Triathlon 2025

The Breakup Triathlon offers a unique opportunity to experience the sport of triathlon, featuring a limited participant count for optimal enjoyment. This year, the race consists of:

• 500 yard pool swim
• 13.1 mile bike ride
• 3.1 mile run

Taking place at the beautiful University of Alaska Fairbanks campus, the event encourages early registration due to its 99-participant limit, which sells out quickly each year. Registration opens on February 1st and will close when all spots are filled, typically within seven days.

Participants must be at least 16 years old by 12/31/2025, and a USA Triathlon membership is required. If not a member, one-day or annual memberships can be purchased followed by specific registration fees depending on timing. Entry fees: $45 from Feb 1 to April 21, $65 from April 22 to May 6, and $85 on May 7.

All swimmers should be prepared for modifications based on weather conditions, and awards will be given to the top three men and women. A T-shirt and swim cap are included in the registration fee, with packet pick-up scheduled on May 9. Join us for an exciting day where the Alaskan spirit prevails, rain or shine!
