What do kids like to do most of all? Swim, bike, and run with their friends. The C26 Youth Triathlon (C26 Ytri, Inc) program presented by USA Triathlon is the gateway for youth to enjoy their favorite three activities in one sport – triathlon. If your youth can swim the length of a pool unassisted and ride a bike, it’s time for them to tri triathlon.
What can your kids expect? FUN! We'll start with a pre-test in week 1 then focus on each aspect of a triathlon until the last week when they put it all together. You won't want to miss the smile on their face when they finish the mock race on the last day. Give it a tri!
Program Schedule
Week 1 - Monday, September 16 – Program overview and pretest
Week 2 - Monday, September 23 - Goals and transitions
Week 3 - Monday, September 30 – Bike Principles and safety
Week 4 - Monday, October 7 – Run Principles
Week 5 - Monday, October 14 – Swim Principles
Week 6 - Monday, October 21 – Combination Swim Bike Run
Week 7 - Monday, October 28 – Mock Triathlon (Post Test)
All sessions are from 6 to 7 pm.
Equipment Needs
SWIM - goggles, swimsuit & towel
BIKE - helmet & bike
RUN - running shoes
Scholarships are available for those who need help with registration fees and/or equipment. If you qualify for the YMCA Renaissance Pointe membership discount, you will qualify for a scholarship for this program. Contact Ruth@C26Ytri.org for details.
