Lud's Church & The Roaches guided trail run

Event Overview

Join Finding The Fells for a run in one of the quieter corners of the Peak District. We'll be taking in the stunning Lud's Church chasm and the panoramic views from The Roaches overlooking Staffordshire.

• Duration: 4 hours 45 minutes
• Elevation Gain: 2,400ft
• Terrain: Mud, compacted dirt paths, flagstone paths, and some short rocky descents.

Gear Required

Bring off-road/grippy running shoes, a buff, a waterproof jacket, snacks, water, and any personal medications. An extra long sleeve layer and hat/gloves are advised.

Route Description

Starting from Clough House car park (approx 1km east of Shutlingsloe), we'll head south towards Gradbach Mill via Berry Bank Farm, then west towards Forest wood to reach Lud's Church. After a quick exploration of the gorge, the run continues south through the woods, along The Roaches, passing Doxey Pool and up to Hen Cloud, before heading over to Ramshaw Rocks and back towards the start via Birchenough Hill.

Meeting at 8:45 AM at Clough House car park, 3 km south of The Stanley Arms Hotel on Ankers Lane.
