Sandhills Sasquatch 1 Mile Repeat
- Correr
- 2 km
The Moore County Marathon and Half is part of the Sandhills Running Club "Miles 4 Moore" race series. This charity run series donates proceeds back to the local community to support community wellness, funding gym memberships and coaching for low-income families and diabetes patients.
Participants will enjoy a scenic route from the Sandhills Community College around Reservoir Park, Whitehall Trail, out to Nick’s Creek and back. Marathon runners will complete this loop twice. There will be four well stocked aid stations along the route with water, Gatorade, and runners' snacks. Since the route is a loop, the four aid stations provide five stops along the ½ marathon route and ten stops along the marathon route.
Registration will open 01 December 2024 and remain open through race day. The event will be open to runners, walkers, and ruckers/backpackers.
Event parking will be located at the Sandhills Community College. Bathrooms/port-a-johns will be located at the start/finish at Sandhills Community College and the turn around point at Nick's Creek parking lot. The start will be located at Sandhills Community College in front of Fountain Hall across from the Botanical Gardens. The Finish line will be located at Sandhills Community College in front of the baseball fields. The Gardens and Reservoir Park are great locations for families and spectators to enjoy some natural scenery while waiting for their runner.
