Top of the Valleys adventure run

When and Where

When: Sunday 19th January 2025. Meet at 08:50 AM for a 09:00 AM start.
Meeting at: Hendre Mynydd car park, upper Rhondda Fawr (CF42 5RY). Exact details will be emailed to runners closer to the event. Nearest train station: Treherbert.

The Route, Difficulty and Pace

Distance: Approx. 8.5 miles, elevation gain of 1,600 ft. Expect a mix of soft, muddy trails and some hard-packed/rocky sections.
Difficulty: Moderate to challenging. This is not an all-abilities run; it's aimed at runners with some experience.
Pace: We run together at a sociable pace, hiking hills as needed.

Kit and Safety

Winter kit requirements include:

• A waterproof jacket
• A spare, warm layer
• Leggings
• Trail shoes
• A beanie or buff
• Gloves
• A fully charged mobile phone
• At least 1 litre of water and snacks
• A running pack or small rucksack for gear

We recommend bringing a spare bag for dry clothes to change into after the run.

All routes are fully recce'd and risk assessed by our qualified run leaders.
