Join us for the Wood Ape Ramble - Underground Adventure Race, an event designed for the most adventurous cyclists. This is not your standard gravel race; safety is not guaranteed, and only those who thrive on challenging conditions should apply.
Participants will have the chance to win a total of $1,500 in prize money if they can set a new Fastest Known Time (FKT). The prize breakdown includes $1,000 for the fastest new FKT and $500 for the second fastest. The race takes place on the national forest service roads surrounding Broken Bow Lake and Hochatown, OK, featuring picturesque and unique routes.
This race includes a 2-mile section with 20%+ grades and requires some minor wayfinding. Water filtration is mandatory, as there are no refuel or resupply options on the course, except for a country store in Bethel, OK, which has limited hours. Participants must carry all food and nutrition, and creek crossings will require dismounting and carrying bikes.
Checkpoints will be located at mile 10, 38, 68, 89, and the finish. All checkpoints must be logged via QR code, and a photo must be taken to count. This race is not for everyone; it is designed for those who appreciate a challenging route and enjoy the solitude of nature.
