2024 DU Crimson Classic 5K Run/1.5 Mile Walk

The University of Denver's 12th Annual Crimson Classic 5K Run/1.5 Mile Walk will take place on Friday, October 18, 2024, on Carnegie Green Lawn at 3pm. Music, stretching, and snacks will start at 2:15pm. The focus of the Crimson Classic is to celebrate wellness and to bring together our community. This is a free event! All participants who register will receive a 12th Annual Crimson Classic t-shirt. Let's kick off Homecoming weekend together.

Routes and Time

Please see the Race Course Map. The afternoons in Denver can reach warm temperatures, please be sure to hydrate prior, during, and after the event. Water stations will be located at the Start/Finish line and along the course. Course Distance: 5K (3.2 Miles) = Two (2) laps around the course. The 1.5 Mile Walk = one (1) lap around the course.

Timeline for Crimson Classic Day

1:00pm - On-site Run Registration, T-shirt Pick-up, Bib Pickup on Carnegie Green Lawn
1:00pm – 2:00pm - Vendors, Sponsors, and Department Table Set-up
2:00pm - Music, Games, and Vendors
2:30pm – 2:45pm - Guided Stretching
2:50pm – 3:00pm - Announcements
3:00pm - Air Horn!! Run/Walk Begins!

For those pre-registered, you will be able to pick up your T-Shirt and Bib early on October 16th and 17th on Carnegie Green Lawn.

Event Exclusions

Please be aware of your surroundings while racing. Strollers are allowed, but please ensure to start in the back after all other runners and walkers. Pets are not allowed on course. Service animals are allowed. Participants under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
