About the Event
The Glasgow to Edinburgh Ultra is a 57-mile ultramarathon that takes participants from Glasgow to Edinburgh, showcasing the beauty of Scotland along the way. Starting at the Riverside Museum in Glasgow, runners will follow a scenic route that includes the River Kelvin, Sustrans Route 754, the Forth and Clyde Canal, the Union Canals, and the Water of Leith.
Checkpoints
There are seven checkpoints along the route, providing runners with water, snacks, and refreshments. Support crews are allowed at some checkpoints, so be sure to check the details.
Event Logistics
Registration for the event takes place on Friday evening and Saturday morning, with the race starting at 6:00 am on Saturday. There are cut-off times at each checkpoint, with the event finishing at 9:00 pm. Participants must be at least 20 years old and in good health to take part.
Optional Dropbag and Mandatory Kit
Participants have the option to leave a dropbag at registration, which will be transported to the finish venue in Edinburgh. Mandatory kit includes a waterproof coat, long-sleeved base layer, water bottles, mobile phone, foil blanket, headtorch, whistle, GPS tracker, and more.
