Grand Rapids Public Schools Turkey Trot

The Grand Rapids Public Schools Turkey Trot is an annual event that takes place on Thanksgiving Day. This year, on November 23, 2023, runners and walkers of all ages and abilities are invited to participate in the 31st edition of this beloved tradition.

The event will be held at the Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, MI, and will feature several courses to choose from. The 5k Run Walk is the main event, covering a distance of 3.1 miles. There is also a 5k GRPS Students course, designed specifically for Grand Rapids Public Schools students. For younger participants, there is a Mini Trot, covering a distance of 1K.

For those who want to participate but cannot attend in person, there is a Virtual 5k Run Walk option available. This allows participants to complete the 3.1-mile course on their own time and at their own pace, wherever they are in the world.

Registration fees for the various courses range from $0.00 for the Mini Trot to $40.00 for the 5k Run Walk. All proceeds from the event go towards supporting Grand Rapids Public Schools athletics, ensuring that all students have the opportunity to participate in sports and other physical activities.
