The Hidden Valley Hammer is not for the faint-hearted. It offers one of the most challenging 10K courses around with steep, slippery, rocky, and exposed trails. Participants will climb roughly 1700ft within the first 4.5 miles and then run through a descent back to the start/finish line. Hiking is expected in some sections of the course. Trekking poles are recommended for the less experienced, and carrying water is advised. There's one aid station offering water near the top.
The 5K course is designed for those who prefer a less technical loop while still enjoying beautiful park views and contributing to a great cause. 100% of the proceeds support the Wildland Firefighter Foundation.
