45th Annual Matanzas 5000

Join us for the Matanzas 5000, a premier 5K event set to take place on January 18, 2025, at 8:00 AM. Located at Francis Field, 25 W Castillo Dr, St. Augustine, FL 32084, this scenic and challenging course is USATF-certified and winds through the historic streets of St. Augustine, Florida.

This year marks the 45th Anniversary of the race, with a total prize pool of $4,200. Awards include:

• 1st Place - Male & Female - $600
• 2nd Place - Male & Female - $400
• 3rd Place - Male & Female - $300
• 4th Place - Male & Female - $150
• 5th Place - Male & Female - $100
• Masters (40+) - $150
• Grand Masters (50+) - $150
• Senior Grand Masters (60+) - $150

Age group awards for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place will be presented across numerous categories from 9 and under to 75 and older.

The event supports St. Johns County youth running programs, helping provide necessary funding for uniforms, equipment, and training opportunities. Since its inception in 1989, the race has donated over $300,000 to these vital programs.

• St. Augustine Location: Ketterlinus Elementary School, 67 Orange St, St. Augustine, FL 32084 (3 PM - 7 PM, Jan 17th and 6:30 AM - 8 AM, Jan 18th)

Parking options include a nearby garage that is free if arrived before 7 AM, with reasonably priced metered options available. Please note the race will be chip-timed, and all participants should cross the timing mats to be included in the results.
