Misfit Island 50k - 8 Mile - 5K

It's time to let out that inner misfit out and have some fun before Christmas. Come join us at Cane Creek Park for either a 50k, 8 Mile, or 5k adventure through the woods. This event is designed to be accessible to anyone who wants to venture into the woods and experience trail running.

ALL registrations are $20 and they will stay $20 until we are sold out or registration closes. So don't worry about breaking the bank on this race. What do you get for a $20 race you may ask? Everything we can give you that you find at a normal priced event. Race t-shirt, aid stations, finisher medal, and great trails to enjoy. All that we ask is that when you sign up, please consider donating to the Community Shelter of Union County. The Community Shelter of Union County offers 3 meals a day, every day, to families and people in need. They need our support to keep their mission going and to not let people continue to slip further into the cracks. Please consider making a donation. If you would pay $80 for this race, take that extra $60 and put it toward a donation. You aren't forced to do so, but we would love it if you do. Help us reach our goal of raising $6000 to donate to this wonderful organization as a Christmas present from the trail running community. Last year we raised $4000. Let's make this a tradition and keep it growing.

50k Event

4 loops of 8 miles that traverse both sides of the park. Elevation gain will be about 700ft per loop. These trails are very fast in places but with just enough technicality to keep your eyes open. You will pass one aid station on course and the second at the Start/Finish line. There will be a 10 hour time limit on this race.

8 Mile Event

One loop around the same course the 50k is running in the park and even a special visit to Dan's dumb hill. You will have one aid station on course and will have plenty of refreshments at the end of your journey at the Start/Finish line. There will be a 9 and a half time limit on this race... don't tell me you can't finish 8 miles in that amount of time.

5k Event

This will be a great introduction to trail running. With sections of smooth fast trails, and a little bit of spice with a few technical sections, you will find out what all the fuss is about and why we have so much fun. You will also have 9 hours to finish this 5k. Plan a picnic on the lovely dam that you'll get to cross and take a nap out in the sun if you'd like before you finish. Come have some fun with us and help an amazing organization along the way!

There will be no refunds or transfers for this race. If you can't make it, just consider your $20 an extra donation to the Community Shelter of Union County.
