About the Event

Register for the Willis River Fat Ass event on Sunday, January 26, 2025, at Bear Creek Lake State Park in Cumberland, VA. This exciting race offers three distance options: 50K, 35K, and 20K, each showcasing the beautiful trails of the area.

Course Details

The 35K course runs much of the Willis River Trail, featuring stream crossings and rolling hills. Participants in the 50K will complete the 35K, return to the start, and then run the Bear Creek 10 miler portion. The 20K course will take runners to the first aid station and back.

Registration Information

Registration is free, but runners are encouraged to bring a food donation to share with others. The Race Director will provide water, portajohns, and course markings. Please bring prepackaged food items that can be shared safely.

Event Logistics

Runners should be prepared for a challenging course that may be wet and hilly. An 8.5-hour cutoff will be in place for the 50K, with a requirement to complete the first 35K in 5.5 hours. Join us for a fun and challenging day on the trails!
