2026 Bay Area 5K & Polar Plunge

Event Details

Join Special Olympics Northern California for the coolest event of the year – the Bay Area 5K and Polar Plunge for Special Olympics. This timed run will take you along the beautiful Alameda beach. Each participant will receive a finisher medal with first through third place awards presented to top finishers in each age category. REGISTER EARLY FOR THE 5K AS FEES INCREASE ON 1/1/2026. This event is part of the Bay Area 5K & Polar Plunge event. Participants are encouraged to dress in costume!

Event Schedule

• 8:30 a.m. - 5K Registration Open
• 9:15 a.m. - 5K Opening Ceremony
• 9:30 a.m. - 5K Run Begins
• 10:00 a.m. - Plunge Registration Opens
• 10:30 a.m. - Race Course Cleared
• 11:30 a.m. - Plunge Opening Ceremony, Costume Judging and Awards
• 12 noon - PLUNGE
