Summer Cross Country Series

Join us for the Summer Cross Country Series, a weekly event held every Tuesday evening at 7 PM in the beautiful Waveny Park of New Canaan, CT. This series of casual races will take you through the fields and trails of the park, offering a unique and challenging experience for runners of all levels.

The Summer XC Series features 12 different courses, each with its own distance and challenge. From the 2.15-mile Race #1 to the 6-mile 2 Man Relay, there's something for everyone. And the best part? It's completely free to participate!

In addition to the thrill of the race, participants have the chance to win prize T-shirts. The top 3 overall men and women, first 18 & under, and 40 & over who have not previously won will receive a T-shirt. In the Predicted Time race, shirts will be awarded to those who come closest to their prediction. And in the Age Graded 5K, awards will be based on WMA Age Graded Tables.

We would like to thank the town of New Canaan and its Recreation Department for allowing us to continue this long-running summer racing tradition. We plan to implement many of the protocols we developed in response to the pandemic last year, ensuring a safer and more efficient race process. In case of severe weather, such as thunderstorms or high heat and humidity, the race may be postponed to the following Thursday, same time. So mark your calendars and get ready for an unforgettable summer of cross country racing!
