This marathon is known for its fast course with exceptional views and coverage:

• Course Profile: Almost entirely downhill with a tough hill between mile 2.00 and 2.56.
• Overall Descent: 1,606 ft in the first 12 miles.
• First 12 miles on runnable improved gravel roads; remaining 14 miles on hardtop along a National Scenic Byway.
• Historical Sight: Pass the winter film site for “Dances with Wolves” at mile 9.35.
