Start your December with a run over the seldom-seen Freedom Tunnel. This event is fast becoming NYC's kick-off to the season of joy as runners from everywhere descend on NYC's quintessential Riverside Park to see what is left in their legs after a year of running. Wedged between the historical Upper West Side neighborhood and the Hudson River this venue is known for its gorgeous views of Manhattan’s waterfronts, lush greenery, and myriad walking and biking paths. Enjoy it all with a course that will leave you wanting to explore more of this 150-year-old park designed by America's renowned landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted.
Location: Riverside Park, 84th Street & Riverside Drive Entrance The 10K - 2 loops and 5K one loop. Every loop is timed and splits uploaded in real time! Water Stations: There will be water stations about every 1.5 miles along the course. Besides water, there will be bananas and oranges and sports drinks and gels (brand to be announced soon). Technical T-shirt: male & female cut commemorative bib. Medal with full-color ribbon Awards/Plaques for Top 3 overall Male and Female Award medals for Top 3 Age Groups Male and Female 14-19, 20-29 until 60-69. Race Day Packet Pick-up: Bring picture I.D. You will receive a bib with a timing chip attached to it. Baggage Check-in starts at 8 am. Your bib will have a tear-off tag that you will pin to your personal bag. You need to show the matching bib to retrieve your bag from the secure area. RACE START: 9 a.m. Splits per loop and finish time are provided live. Awards Ceremony: about 60-90 minutes after the start. Post Race Celebration! Bagels, fruits and drinks!
