The Sickle Cell Foundation of Tennessee 16th Annual Mark Walden Memorial Walk/Run

The Sickle Cell Foundation of Tennessee has impacted the sickle cell disease community for 16 years. In 2024, we will host the 16th Annual Mark Walden Walk/Run. Many people living with sickle cell disease and their caregivers will receive ongoing support as the organization continues to educate and increase awareness of sickle cell disease in the greater Memphis and surrounding communities.

The Sickle Cell Foundation of Tennessee relies on the support of sponsors, donors, and registered event participants for self-funding for the event and for providing social service support and resources to families in the greater Memphis Area. Individuals and caregivers receive rental assistance, utility assistance, burial assistance, food, and transportation assistance. Unfortunately, not all individuals and families can receive the services they need due to funding, thus stressing the importance of hosting this event.

During the walk, there will be keepsake giveaways, entertainment, educational presentations, and enrollment of new families impacted by sickle cell disease into support services.
