TRI for FUN Triathlon #2

The TRI for FUN Triathlon #2 is back in 2025 at Rancho Seco Park in Herald, California. This event features races on June 8th, July 13th, and August 10th, celebrating the 42nd year of TRI for FUN Triathlon racing!

Event Details

The TRI for FUN Sprint Triathlon began in 1983, started by Fleet Feet Sports. TBF Racing took over the event in 2001 and has enjoyed working with the SMUD Staff at Rancho Seco Park to bring you this classic series of triathlons each summer.

Race Features

The race is at beautiful Rancho Seco Park featuring a lake swim, a road bike course, and a dirt trail run. The TRI for FUN Triathlon features a half-mile swim, 16-mile bike, and a 3-mile run course. The DU for FUN has a 1-mile run, 16-mile bike, and a 3-mile run course.

Awards and T-Shirts

All racers will receive a TFF Finisher item, post-race refreshments, plus awards in each age group. TRI for FUN commemorative race t-shirts are available for $20 when ordered before July 6th. Awards will be given to the top three in each 10-year age group in each triathlon.

Packet Pick Up Information

Race packets will be available race morning from 6:30 am to 8:30 am at the race site. There is a $12 park entrance fee per vehicle.

Start Times

TRI for FUN Triathlon - 8 a.m. Wave Starts. DU for FUN Duathlon - 8 a.m. Mass Start. Entry into Rancho Seco Park will be closed from 7:30 am to 8 am due to our TRI for KIDS Triathlon event.

Volunteer Opportunities

Our Race for FREE Athlete Volunteer Program offers a chance to get involved with multi-sport events, have fun, and earn a $50 TBF Racing Volunteer voucher good towards entry fees at any of our events this year. Each volunteer shift is 4 hours.

Refund and Transfer Information

TBF Racing has a No Refund policy on all of our events. A refund requested prior to race week will be given a TBF Race credit for the amount of the entry fee minus a $25 processing fee. Transfers are allowed from one TBF Racing event to another within a one-year time frame with a $25 transfer fee.
