Winter Wild Thangs Trail Series

Welcome to the Winter Wild Thangs Trail Series! We are excited to introduce a new trail series to the beautiful mountains around Huntsville, AL. This series is designed for both new and experienced trail runners alike.

Event Overview

There are 3 races total in the series with both short and long race distances. Starting in December and finishing in January, these races are designed to be competitive, help runners increase their race distances through the winter months, and most of all be a ton of fun.

Race Details

The series includes:

• December 21, 2024 - Frozen Yeti: 5 Mile, 10 Mile
• January 4, 2025 - Frozen Trash Panda: 10K, Half Marathon
• January 18, 2025 - Frozen Goat: 15K, 30K

These courses have several bluff views with beautiful mountain scenery as well as creek crossings, waterfalls, and more. Several aid stations will be provided on the course with refreshments.

Registration Information

The race series bundle is capped at 250 runners. Early bird registration discounts are available. All participants will receive a Wild Thangs series t-shirt, finisher awards, and a series plaque.

Weather and Cutoffs

In the event of severe weather, we will delay the start as necessary. Average temperatures throughout the winter for Huntsville range from low 25F-35F to high 45F-55F. There will be loose cutoffs to encourage participation.
