65th Great River Road Run

For 65 years people have been gathering the Saturday after Thanksgiving in Alton IL to run and walk on The Great River Road. It's a beautifully scenic course, bluffs on one side and the Mississippi River on the other. The course is a flat out and back on The Great River Road, you can choose the challenging 10 mile run or for a less challenging adventure you can run or walk the 5k. Everyone gets a long sleeve event shirt and every 65th finisher gets a prize, it could be a gift card or free entry to the 66th annual Great River Road Run. Come and run some of your Thanksgiving turkey off and enjoy your day in Alton, IL.

Race Date - Saturday, November 30, 2024
Race Time - Registration opens at 8:00am, Both the 5k and the 10 mile begin at 10:00am
Course - Flat out and back on the River Road
Race Day Registration - It is at Mac's Downtown, 315 Belle St. Alton, IL, 8:00 - 10:00am
Parking - There is a parking lot near Mac's Downtown and many parking spots along the streets.
Waivers - Must sign a waiver to participate
What to bring and wear - Come prepared for the weather, we have experienced warm, sunny, cool, cloudy, cold, rain and snow!
