A Run/Walk through History features a scenic course within the historic Metairie Cemetery. With distances of both 5K and 1K, this event accommodates runners and walkers of all ages. The event supports Save Our Cemeteries, a national organization focused on preserving historic burial sites.

  • 7:15 AM - Race Day Registration and Packet Pickup
  • 8:15 AM - 1K Start
  • 8:30 AM - 5K Start
• Location: Metairie Cemetery, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, LA, 70124
• Parking: Use the large lot behind the funeral home; alternate parking will be provided if this lot fills up.
• Entry Fees:
  • $35.00 until May 30, 2025
  • $45.00 on race day
  • $5.00 discount for youth (17 & under) and seniors (65 & over)
• Packet Pickup: Pre-race day at Ricca's Architectural on May 29, 2025, or on race day starting at 7:15 AM
• T-Shirts: Available in multiple sizes for participants
• Awards: Medals for overall and age group winners

Important Notes

For safety, refrain from using headphones during the race. It is also discouraged to walk/run with pets or strollers.
