Eagle River Triathlon Overview

The Eagle River Triathlon is set to take place from Saturday, June 14, 2025, to Sunday, June 15, 2025. This annual event is a USA Triathlon Alaska State Championship offering competitive races in various categories, including:

• Olympic Distance
• Sprint Distance
• Sprint Duathlon
• Sprint Relay Team
• Kids Triathlon Short Course
• Olympic Relay Team
• Kids Triathlon Long Course

Race Details

The beautiful course in Chugiak is just 20 miles north of Anchorage, known for its spectacular views and challenging bike sections. It includes:

Olympic Distance Triathlon

Swim: 1500M split lane in the Chugiak High School pool

Bike: 40K (24.8 miles), double out and back route

Run: 10K (6.2 miles) through scenic mountain landscapes

Sprint Distance Triathlon

Swim: 500yd split lane in the Chugiak High School pool

Bike: 20K (12.4 miles)

Run: 5K (3.1 miles)

Sprint Duathlon

Trail Run: 1-mile on Beach Lake ski trails

Bike: 20K (12.4 miles)

Run: 5K (3.1 miles)

Kids Race

New this year, two distances for kids:

• Long Course: 300 yard swim / 2-mile bike / ~1.2 mile run
• Short Course: 50 yard swim / 1-mile bike / ~0.6 mile run
