Acerca del Evento
The Kangaroo Island Marathon is an annual event that has been running since 2015. It has attracted runners from all over the world, with participants representing 23 different countries and every state in Australia.
In 2020, Kangaroo Island was hit by devastating bushfires that destroyed 96% of Flinders Chase National Park. However, in 2021, the marathon made an emotional return, with a record number of attendees. The event's resilience was recognized with a bronze medal at the South Australian Tourism Awards.
The marathon will be taking a break in 2025, so runners are encouraged to register early for the 10th Anniversary event in 2024.
The course route takes runners through the heart of the shutdown Flinders Chase National Park, which is located in the remote south-west corner of the island. Participants will be inspired by the regenerating flora and fauna that have emerged after the bushfires. The route includes undulating and deviating roads, a coastal section with clifftop views of the southern ocean, and a zig-zag boardwalk that leads to the iconic Remarkable Rocks.
There are two race options available: the Half Marathon and the Full Marathon. The registration fee for both races is 192.50 AUD.
Don't miss out on this incredible opportunity to run in a unique and beautiful location. Register now for the Kangaroo Island Marathon and be a part of this unforgettable event.
