2023 Running of the Turkeys

Join us for the 2023 Running of the Turkeys, a traditional Thanksgiving morning run in beautiful Arlington, Vermont. The event will take place at Fisher Elementary School, located at 504 East Arlington Road.

The main course is the Running of the Turkeys 5K, a scenic southwestern Vermont course with a few challenging hills. The registration fee for this course is $30.00 for early bird registration and $40.00 on race day. Battenkill Valley Runners members can enjoy a discounted fee of $20.00.

Walkers are welcome to participate in the 5K as well, with awards given to the top 3 male and female finishers.

For the younger participants, there is a Kids Fun Run with a distance of 1 mile. The registration fee for this event is only $1.00.

Pre-race registration and packet pick-up will be held on Wednesday, November 22 from 5:30-6:30 PM at the school. Race day registration will begin at 7:30 AM and end at 8:30 AM.

Awards will be given to the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as winners of 10-year age groups. Age groups for participants aged 60 and above will be divided into 5-year increments.

The first 200 entrants in the 5K run and walk will receive a special turkey-themed medal.
