2026 Grit Your Grief 5K Run Walk

Location: MBS International Airport, Freeland, MI 48623, US

The Children's Grief Center of the Great Lakes Bay Region presents the Grit Your Grief 5K Run/Walk at MBS International Airport, including a Kids Color Run on MBS property. The event also offers virtual race weeks from May 6th-20th.

Events:

• 5K Run/Walk: Starts at 10:00 AM EDT on May 16th. The course includes MBS taxiways and a portion of a main runway. Registration prices range from $35 (Early Bird by April 21st) to $45.
• VIRTUAL 5K Run/Walk: Participants choose their own routes between May 6th-20th. Price is $35.
• Color Fun Run: Starts at 11:30 AM EDT on May 16th. Held on MBS property (not on a runway due to FAA regulations). Price is $20. Must be registered by April 21st for a guaranteed T-shirt.
• Spectator Pass: Available from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM EDT. Price is $10.

Registration Deadlines & Details:

• Early Bird Registration: $35 (must register by April 21st for guaranteed T-shirt).
• Standard Registration: $45 (May 15th - May 16th, T-shirt and medal only if available).
• All participants in the 5K will be timed.
• Kids may register for the Color Run after April 21st or onsite, but are advised to wear a white shirt if T-shirts are unavailable.
• A discount code is available for groups of more than 3 family members for the Color Run (call 989-495-9335).

Packet Pick-Up:

• LIVE Race Packets: Available on race day.
• VIRTUAL Race Packets: Available on race day or the following week at the Children's Grief Center (4708 James Savage Rd, Midland, 48642), with an option for shipping at an extra cost.

Memorial signs to honor loved ones can be purchased and will be displayed at the event. All proceeds benefit the Children's Grief Center of the Great Lakes Bay Region.
