2026 Meridian Twizel Hard Labour Weekend

About the Event

The Meridian Twizel Hard Labour Weekend is a multi-sport event that takes place every October in the stunning high country of the Mackenzie Region. It features three events over two days: a canal kayak (20km), mountain bike (16km or 40km), and off-road run or walk (10km or 21km). There are also options for youth (Indoor Row, Mini Dusky mountain bike, Mini Pyramid run/walk) and an over 65 age bracket. Participants can enter individual events or complete all three to become a "Hard Labourer". The event has a strong focus on fundraising for local youth sports and community groups.

• Event Dates: Saturday, October 24 and Sunday, October 25, 2026
• Online Entries Close: Thursday, October 22, 2026, at 9:00 pm
• Registration Pack Collection: Friday, October 23, 2026, 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Twizel Events Centre, and up to 15 minutes prior to event start.
• Late Entries: Accepted on the day with an additional fee, up to 15 minutes prior to race briefing.
