2026 Northumberland Turkey Trot

Don't Be Chicken ... Be A Turkey!

Join the fun supporting the YMCA Strong Communities Campaign. This family-friendly event aims to support children, teens, adults, and seniors in the community by eliminating financial barriers.

Event Schedule:

• 8:30 am – Check-in and race day registration begins.
• 9:20 am – Warm-up with a Y leader.
• 9:30 am – Gobble Wobble (Fun activity for 4 years old and under).
• 9:45 am – Wing Ding 1K Kids Fun Run (Untimed event).
• 10:10 am – The Gobbler 5K Run and 2.5K Run/Walk (Timed event).
• 11:20 am – Awards (Medals, Golden Drumstick Award, Draw prizes).

Courses:

• Wing Ding 1K Kids Fun Run: Untimed, fun event for kids.
• 2.5K Run/Walk: Timed event, suitable for carrying young children in carriers.
• 5K Run: Timed event, a double loop of the 2.5K course.

The course is described as a fun urban green space setting with uneven ground and small rolling hills, with the majority being grass. Participants will run or walk in the Cobourg Conservation Area.

Costumes:

Show off your inner turkey and dress up! The Golden Drumstick Award will be given for the best costume/turkey spirit.

Registration Fees:

Prices are inclusive of mandatory charges, items, and fees. Processing fees are added at checkout.

• Timed Event (5K/2.5K):
• Dec 1 – Jun 29: $23.83 (Clever Early Pricing) / $10 for 18 yrs and younger.
• Jun 30 – Sept 29: $29.23 (Early Pricing) / $10 for 18 yrs and younger.
• Sept 30 – Oct 11: $34.62 (Event Pricing) / $10 for 18 yrs and younger.
• Kid Fun! (1K):
• Dec 1 – Jun 29: $13.04 ($10 + processing fee)
• Jun 30 – Sept 29: $13.04 ($10 + processing fee)
• Sept 30 – Oct 11: $13.04 ($10 + processing fee)
• Gobble Wobble (4 yr olds and under): Free.

Virtual Option:

Choose Your Own Adventure Turkey Trot allows participation virtually or in your own way, on your own terms. Complete by the end of October. A minimum donation of $5 is appreciated if medals are mailed.

Important Notes:

• Dogs are welcome in the start/finish area (leashed) but not permitted on the course during running events.
• Strollers are asked to stay off the course during running events, but are suitable for the 2.5K Run/Walk if using a backpack or sling carrier.
• Finisher medals for 400 registrants in 2.5K/5K. Kids medals for 1K fun run (limit 150).
