2026 Scenic Mountain Triathlon

Sun July 12, 2026 in Richwood, WV. The 41st Anniversary of WV's First Triathlon!

THE ENTIRE RACE IS HELD IN THE MONONGAHELA NATIONAL FOREST (UNDER SPECIAL USE PERMIT).

The race starts with a .5 mile swim in Summit Lake, followed by a 17.1 mile bike ride over Kennison Mountain (elevation of 3,988 feet) to the Cranberry Mountain Nature Center. The race concludes with a 6.2 mile run down to the Cranberry Glades and back to the Cranberry Mountain Nature Center to the finish line. It is the WV State Championship and Olympic Qualifying Event.

Shirts are only guaranteed if you are registered by June 30th. After this time, all extras will go as first-come, first-served!

Registration Information:

• USAT Members: $75
• Non-USAT Members: $90
• Registration ends July 8, 2026 at 11:59pm EDT.
• All members must have a USAT Membership or purchase a Day Pass ($15).

Relay Participants:

One person registers and creates the group/pays for the group. The other members then register and select that group (no fee involved). All participants must be a USAT member.
