The Alacant Triathlon du Monde is the most exciting and extreme event in its three categories: mental, physical, and strategic. A perfect combination of open water challenges, road cycling, and endurance running that will thrill those who manage to cross the finish line.
Are you ready to experience the triathlon du Monde? Are you ready for Alacant?
This circuit consists of 2500 meters of swimming, 121 km of road cycling, and 23 km of running.
The emblematic triathlon will begin on the morning of April 13. Athletes will embark from the port of Alicante, where they will be transported by boat offshore to 2500 meters from the coast of Campello, the transition area.
Participants will jump from the boat at the sound of the horn and swim to the coast of Campello, making it visually appealing for local, national, and international spectators who wish to follow the competition.
In the Puerto Pesquero area of Campello, the first and second transitions will be set up. Competitors must be fast enough to grab their bicycles and proceed with the cycling segment, an impressive 121 km with gradients of up to 13%.
The cycling segment will test the participants' endurance, with the famous Puerto de Tudons rising to 1025 meters above sea level and the Puerto Benifallim at 1015 meters, both known for being part of the Tour of Spain, challenging the participants of Alacant Triathlon du Monde.
Within the cycling stage, there will be a mountain meta sub-test from Sella to Puerto Tudons, 11.9 km with 600 meters of positive elevation. The cyclist who crowns the mountain peak will receive a bonus of 5 minutes in the overall competition, both in female and male categories, as well as the title of Winner of the Tudons Alacant Sprint.
This circuit is tough, complete, and extremely beautiful. Only nature enthusiasts can appreciate the sweet combination of the extreme and the magnificent – landscapes that astonish and leave anyone astonished.
The municipalities of Busot, Relleu, Sella, Penáguila, Benifallim, Torremanzanas, Jijona, and Campello will host this event. Each city will be responsible for its own civil personnel, security, police, and ambulances to assist the athletes, with aid stations provided for the competitors.
Once the cycling segment is completed, they will return to Campello to the transition area, where they will leave their bicycles. The Mediterranean coastline competition will conclude with the running segment, heading along the coastline towards the city of Alicante, passing San Juan Playa, where personnel will be present for runner support and aid.
The athletes will give whatever energy remains to reach the top of Castillo de Santa Barbara, a place marked by history and a divine legacy. Because whoever crowns the divine summit of Santa Barbara will find wealth and have a wish granted.
The running circuit, besides offering a beautiful view of the paradisiacal beaches of Alicante, also provides the runner the opportunity to experience the cultural side of the city.
