Alaska Endurance Trail Run - June 5 - 6, 2026

Welcome to the Alaska Endurance Trail Run! 2026 marks the tenth year for this timed race where runners compete against the clock to cover as much distance as possible within their chosen time limit. Options include a 6-hour race, a 12-hour race, and a 24-hour race. All three races conclude simultaneously, often leading to an exciting finish. A post-race BBQ party and awards ceremony will follow immediately after the final results are tallied.

Start Times:

• 6-hour racers: Opt to start at either 8 AM or 2 PM on Saturday.
• 12-hour racers: Opt to start at either 8 PM Friday or 8 AM Saturday.
• 24-hour racers: Start at 8 PM on Friday.

Location: The starting area is at the ski hut near the parking lot behind the International Arctic Research Center at the University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF). The address is 930 Koyukuk Drive, Fairbanks, Alaska.

Participants Under 18: Minors aged 12 to 17 are welcome but must be accompanied by a parent or designated guardian on the premises at all times.

Course Information

The main AETR course is a roughly 6-mile loop on the well-maintained trails of the UAF West Ridge. The terrain includes gravel, grass, roots, and forest duff, passing through forested areas, open fields, and meadows. There are minimal road crossings and a short section along a paved bike path near Ballaine Lake. The trails are mildly technical with roots, occasional fallen branches, and some rocks. Some sections may be wet depending on spring breakup and rainfall.
