Area 51 5k/12k Trail Race

Course Description

Welcome to the 3rd annual Area 51 Trail Race! The trail is 100% single track that winds through the hills and trees of North Mississippi. With almost 100' of gain per mile, the trail is challenging while still being runnable. The 6k will start and finish at the same location as the 12k, but they will take a "shortcut" between the south and north Voyager trails. Please keep in mind this is a trail race and all distances will be "ish" distances.

Race Day Schedule

Packet pickup: We will have a packet pickup a day or two before the race, location tbd, and at the Start/Finish line on race morning from 7:00-7:45

The 12k will start at 8:00, and the 6k at 8:15.

Start Location: Area 51 mountain bike trails (on google as well as apple maps)

Parking: Parking is going to be limited so please carpool if you can. If the weather is dry, parking shouldn't be a problem.

Aid/Water Stations: We plan to have a water station on the 5k route, and an aid station on the 12k route. More details to come when we get closer to race day. We invite everyone to stick around after the race for coffee and breakfast.

About the Race

Area 51 is a trail that your RD's train on almost daily! We love having this great resource so close to home. None of these trails would be here if it weren't for the North Mississippi Trail Alliance. Their work over the last 5 years in building an entire trail system has been appreciated by so many that use them. Our race is a not for profit event, all profits will go back to the NMTA so they can continue to build and maintain the trails we love.
