The Barn Creek Backyard Ultra is a "Last Man Standing" event designed to help participants achieve a distance personal record. The race features a 4.167-mile out and back course that winds through woods on private property, crossing Barn Creek via a bridge, adjacent to Colditz Cove State Natural Area. The terrain includes gravel, road, and trail with less than 300 feet of elevation gain per loop.

The first loop starts at 7 am, with subsequent loops starting on the hour, every hour, with a 3, 2, and 1-minute warning. Race rules follow official backyard ultra guidelines, emphasizing completing each loop within the hour. The winner is the last person to complete a loop.

An aid station with warm food, water, drinks, and bathrooms will be available next to the start corral. Runners can set up tents along the start corral. Awards include a belt buckle for completing 100 miles.

Stats from previous years: 83% of starters finished at least 50K, 50% finished 100K, and 28% went 100+ miles.
