CEASE AND DESIST IV

About this event

The 2025 CEASE AND DESIST IV is presented by KRC with support from Nike LA. The race is a five-person relay from DTLA to Santa Monica. Runners will carry and hand off batons at specified exchanges to continue on to the next checkpoint. Solo option available for all 16 miles. This unsanctioned race will not be a closed course. Runners should have experience running through traffic on open streets and intersections.

Race starts at 6:30 am SHARP.

Race Entry:

• $250 per team (five runners per team)
• $60 per solo runner

Space is limited. If you would like to race but cannot afford the entry fee please contact us and we will make it work.

Some Race Details

There is no set course, only set checkpoints where racers must hand off. Runners should hit the checkpoints with at least a 14min/mile pace. Runners may continue on but volunteers will be released at that time.

Start: Fig and 7th (~3 Mile Leg)
First Checkpoint: Figueroa St/MLK Jr Blvd (~4.6 Miles Leg)
Second Checkpoint: Expo/La Brea (~4.4 Miles Leg)
Third Checkpoint: Westwood/Rancho Park (~2.6 Mile Leg)
Fourth Checkpoint: 26th/Bergamot (~2.3 Mile Leg)
Finish: End of SM Pier (New location from previous years)

• Saturday, July 12th, 10am-1pm: Bib Pickup. Race shirt sizes will be first come first serve at bib-pick up. Location: Blue Ribbon Sports 3107 Pico Blvd. Santa Monica
• Sunday, July 13th, 5:45 am: 1st runners meet at starting line (FIGat7th Courtyard)
• Sunday, July 13th, 6:30 am: Relay starts
• Sunday, July 13th, 7:30 am - 12pm: Post-Race at Santa Monica Pier
• Sunday, July 13th, 11pm: After Party at Big Dean's
