Chesapeake Bank/Chesapeake Wealth Management Gloucester County Educational Foundation 3K and 8K Run/Walk and Virtual 5K

Race Information

The Annual Chesapeake Bank/Chesapeake Wealth Management Gloucester County Educational Foundation Run/Walk is a road race conducted under the rules of the Road Runners Club of America (RRCA) with results provided by the Peninsula Track Club (PTC). Chesapeake Bank/Chesapeake Wealth Management is the name sponsor for this event. Proceeds are used to help support educational endeavors through the Gloucester County Educational Foundation for Gloucester County Public Schools.

IMPORTANT TO REMEMBER:

• Pre-Registration Online only (no additional charge to pay by credit/debit card!)
• Register by 2/26/2026 to save $5 off the regular pre-registration fee & be guaranteed an event t-shirt
• Online registration for all events closes at 11:59pm on 3/10/26
• Same day registration is welcome; however, there is an increase in cost to participate.

Packet Pickup: You can pick up your race packet on Friday, March 13, 4:30-6:00 p.m. at Gloucester High School, or on race day, 8:00-9:15 a.m.

Event Description

The 2026 event features three events/distances:

• In-person 3K run/walk - March 14, 2026 - Begins at 9:45 a.m.
• In-person 8K run/walk - March 14, 2026 - Begins at 9:30 a.m.
• Virtual 5K - Anywhere and anytime between February 27 and March 14, 2026 (must report results by 3/14/2026)

Awards

3K: Top overall male and female finishers receive a medal. Top 3 finishers in each age group receive a medal. Age groups are: 8 and under, 9-11, 12-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75 years & up.

8K: Top 3 overall male and female finishers receive cash and a medal. Top 3 finishers in each age group receive a medal. Age groups are: 8 and under, 9-11, 12-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75 years & up.

Ann Burruss Memorial 8K Awards: Youngest and oldest male and female 8K finishers receive gift cards. Finishers must complete the race under their own power. Middle of the pack finisher. The person whose finishing time is exactly in the middle (even numbers round up) receives a gift card.

THE EVENT WILL BE HELD RAIN OR SHINE; HOWEVER, THE GLOUCESTER EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION BOARD AND GLOUCESTER COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS RESERVE THE RIGHT TO CANCEL THE RACE IF WEATHER OR COVID-19 CONDITIONS ARE DEEMED UNSAFE FOR PARTICIPANTS. THERE ARE NO REFUNDS OR DEFERRALS. ALL PROCEEDS WILL BE USED FOR THE ANNUAL TEACHER OF THE YEAR AND MINI-GRANT PROGRAMS.
