Cottontail 6 and 12 Hour - April 18, 2026

This event offers both an in-person option on April 18, 2026, and a virtual event running from April 1st to April 30th. The in-person race takes place in Seattle's Carkeek Park on a clockwise, 1.93-mile loop with an additional 0.54-mile loop available. Each loop features steep stairs, rolling trails, vistas, singletrack, and approximately 436' of vertical gain.

Runners can choose to participate for six or twelve hours, completing as many loops as they wish. The event emphasizes a festive atmosphere, sustainability (low-impact, minimal trash), and support for local businesses through aid and prizes. Winners have historically received unique prizes such as garden gnomes or stuffed dragons.

This is an affordable fundraiser for Northwest Trails, with prices starting at $50 for the 6-Hour and $60 for the 12-Hour. A virtual option is available for $35. All proceeds support trail work, education, and advocacy through the Endless Trails 501(c)3 nonprofit.

New in 2026 is a series-wide run club competition, where miles run contribute to a club's total for year-end bragging rights and a trophy.
