CVRR Backyard Ultra 2026 edition

The 7th annual 'CVRR Backyard Ultra' will take place on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at the Comox Valley Exhibition Grounds. This event is designed for everyone, not just ultra-runners. Beginning every hour, exactly on the hour, participants will run a marked 6,706-meter route through the forests and fields of the CV Exhibition Grounds. Runners must start each subsequent lap exactly at the top of the next hour. The event continues until a runner is no longer willing or able to continue. This year, there is a maximum limit of 30 yards/30 hours for all runners. If multiple runners complete 30 yards, a tie-breaking Mystery Challenge will determine the single finisher. The distance of 6.706 km per 'yard' is designed so that 24 yards equals 100 miles over 24 hours.

TEAM CATEGORY

While it's primarily a solo event, you can register as part of a 3-5 person team. All team members start together and run as many laps as they can individually. The team with the most total laps completed wins. Awards will be given for most yards completed by a team, best costumes, and special team draw prizes. Team members do not need to run the same number of yards.

VENUE & FEES

Camping: Tent or camper parking is available on-site on Friday night (July 24) and Saturday night (July 25). Water and electricity are included in the camping fee (CA$39.66 per night). This fee is not required for your personal support station.

• Last Minute: CA$61.12 (Jul 1 – Jul 23)
