Drew's Angel Creek 50 (DAC50)

This event features friendly, low-key, and challenging 50-mile and 50K point-to-point races near Fairbanks, Alaska. The 50-mile race starts at Twin Bears Camp and finishes at Chena Hot Springs Resort. The 50K race starts at the Angel Rocks Trailhead, merges with the 50-mile course, and also finishes at Chena Hot Springs Resort.

The courses are approximately a 50/50 mix of hard-packed trail with good footing and technical sections, primarily along ridge lines, designed to challenge experienced trail runners. The course is only accessible by road at the start line, finish line, and the Angel Rocks Trailhead.

Drop bags will be available for the 50-mile race at checkpoints located at miles 30 and 42, and at the finish line. For the 50K, drop bags can be left at the start line, which also serves as the 37K/23-mile checkpoint. A shuttle service will be provided from Chena Hot Springs Resort to the start lines.

Course Details:

• 50 Mile: Elevation 12,600 ft. gain / 12,000 ft. loss
• 50K: Elevation 6,400 ft. gain / 6,200 ft. loss
• Chena Hot Springs Resort (Race Finish): 1,300 ft.

Race Day Schedule (Saturday, August 1st, 2026):

• 4:30 am - Mandatory pre-race briefing for 50-mile racers at Twin Bears Camp
• 5:00 am - 50-mile race starts at Twin Bears Camp
• 8:30 am - Mandatory pre-race briefing for 50K racers at Angel Rocks Trailhead
• 9:00 am - 50K race starts at Angel Rocks Trailhead
• 5:30 pm - Post-race BBQ begins at Chena Hot Springs Resort
• 6:30 pm - Cut-off time: all racers departing the Angel Rocks Trailhead by 6:30 pm will be allowed to finish the race
