Foot Levelers Blue Ridge Marathon

The Foot Levelers Blue Ridge Marathon is an annual event that takes place in Roanoke, Virginia. Known as “America’s Toughest Road Marathon,” this race challenges runners with over 7,430 ft. in elevation change, making it the most challenging road marathon in the U.S. The race is the only marathon that runs along the scenic Blue Ridge Parkway, and proceeds from this non-profit event benefit the parkway and a dozen local charities every year.

The marathon offers a variety of courses, including a full marathon, half marathon, relay, 10k, and a 1-mile family run. All courses are equally challenging and rewarding, with runners receiving unique finishers’ medals, shirts, and local craft beer at the festival-like finish in downtown Roanoke.

For those who want to take on an even greater challenge, the official Blue Ridge Double marathon allows runners to complete the course twice. This event sells out annually, so be sure to register early.
