Grady's Superhero Run

Event Details

Grady's Superhero Run is a family-friendly 5K and kid's fun run, with a new virtual run option. The in-person event will be hosted in Dorchester, IA, starting in front of Knotty Marie's on Waterloo Creek Dr. The fun run will head west on Waterloo Creek Drive approximately 1.5 miles and loop back to the starting spot.

The in-person run will be followed by a bounce house, kids’ games, prize giveaways, and a DJ. Entertainment and a light meal will be served in Knotty Marie's yard (free will donation).

Purpose

This event is a memorial run for Grady Lundgren-Hammel, an ambitious, loving, energetic boy who loved agriculture and Dorchester. Grady was diagnosed with a rare NUT Protein Carcinoma and fought courageously for 13 months. The run aims to give back to the community, raise awareness for NUT protein carcinoma, and create a fun event to memorialize Grady. Money raised will be divided between families experiencing medical issues and to continue The Grady Lundgren-Hammel memorial scholarship at local schools.
