Great Train Race Grades UPK- K- 9:10 am

Event Details

Join us for the first annual Great Train Race kids fun run, a perfect way to kick off the summer! The event takes place on Saturday, June 13th, at the Train Depot by the OP Library. Participants will walk, run, skip, or hop along a course that starts at the Train Depot and loops along the Rails to Trails path.

After or before their run, kids can explore the OP Library, which will feature an inflatable obstacle course, backyard games, and crafts outside. Local fitness vendors will also be present to discuss healthy active lifestyle opportunities in Orchard Park.

Race Information

• Grades UPK-K: 0.25 mile run or walk (starting at 9:10 am). Runners in this group must have an adult partner.
• Grades 1-2: 0.50 mile run or walk.
• Grades 3-6: 1.00 mile run or walk.

All heats will start and end at the depot, with distances adjusted by grade level. All participants receive an official race sticker and a commemorative medal. Grades 3 and up will be timed for fun, but no awards ceremony will be held.

Check-in and Packet Pickup

Please arrive at least 5 minutes before your selected race time to check in. Race numbers can be picked up on the day of the event at the check-in table, or from June 8th-June 12th (8:30 am - 4:30 pm, M-F) at the Recreation Department located at the Community Activity Center, 4520 California Rd.
