Groundhog Day Marathon

Event Overview

The Groundhog Day Marathon takes place on February 5-6, 2027. It offers a unique winter running experience outside Grand Rapids, Michigan, with an exciting atmosphere and a chance to embrace the snow. The event includes the Marathon, Half Marathon, and several themed courses.

• Marathon: 26.2 Miles
• Half Marathon: 13.1 Miles
• 1/6 Marathon WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP: 4.37 Miles
• Whole Hog (1/6 plus Full): 30.57 Miles
• Half Hog (1/6 plus Half): 17.47 Miles

Event Details

The event begins with a Moonlight 1/6 Marathon on February 4th, continuing into the main races on February 5th. The Marathon starts at 8:00 a.m. and the Half Marathon starts shortly after. Participants can expect a challenging yet rewarding course certified for Boston qualifying!

Swag and Amenities

Every finisher receives a hoodie and medal, with additional items for specific race categories. Aid stations will be available every mile on the course. Don’t forget to prepare for varied winter weather!
