Hickory Foundation YMCA Turkey Trot 5K 10K & Youth Fun Run

Event Details

The Hickory Foundation YMCA is excited to announce the 25th Annual Hickory Turkey Trot 5K, 10K, and Fun Run on Saturday, November 21st, 2026. Proceeds from this race help the Y carry out its mission to provide programs that build healthy spirit, mind, and body to make Hickory a stronger community.

All participants who enter by November 8th, 2026, will receive this year's custom long sleeve t-shirt.

Race Day Schedule

• 7:00 AM - 9:00 AM: Onsite packet pickup and registration
• 8:15 AM: Youth Fun Run start time
• 9:00 AM: 10K start time
• 9:03 AM: 5K start time
• 11:00 AM: Awards Ceremony at the C.O. Miller Teen Center on the Hickory Foundation YMCA grounds

Please note: There is a 1 hour 30 minute cutoff time for all race participants to complete the race.

Awards

New for 2026, award winners can claim their awards on-site on a rolling basis as results are confirmed. Top Male & Female of 5K & 10K winners will receive a one-month YMCA membership, a $50 Dick's Sporting Goods gift card, a turkey, and a trophy. Overall winners are not eligible for Age Group awards.

The Top Three Male & Female finishers in various age groups will receive gift cards to Fleet Feet of Hickory ($20, $15, $10). The Top Three Male & Female finishers in younger age groups (9 & Under, 10-14, 15-19) will receive a medal.

• TEAM ONLY Packet Pickup: Thursday, November 19th, 12:00 PM - 1:30 PM & 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM at C.O. Miller Teen Center, 701 1st St NW, Hickory, NC 28601
• INDIVIDUAL Runner Pre-Race Day Packet Pickup/Onsite Registration: Friday, November 20th, 12:00 PM - 1:30 PM, 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM (highly recommended)
• Race Day Registration/Packet Pickup: 7:00 AM - 9:00 AM at C.O. Miller Teen Center, 701 1st St NW, Hickory, NC 28601

Youth Fun Run

Open to ages 1-12, the Youth Fun Run course will take place in the field behind the Hickory Foundation YMCA and begins at 8:15 AM. Parents are welcome to join!

Phantom 5K & 10K (Virtual)

This "Do It Yourself" event allows participants to run or walk at any time and any location that is convenient and safe for you and your families. You don't even have to live in North Carolina, so invite friends and family in other states or countries to join the fun. Must register by November 9th to receive a race t-shirt!
