Hoggard JROTC Presidential Fitness Test Challenge

A fun, family-friendly fitness event open to everyone – JROTC cadets, students, parents, and the community! Whether you’re already fit or just beginning your fitness journey, this is a no-judgment zone where participation and effort are celebrated.

Location: Scott Braswell Football Stadium – Hoggard High School, 4305 Shipyard Blvd, Wilmington, NC 28403 (free parking available directly in front of the stadium)

Event Format: Complete 5 classic fitness stations in any order you choose within one hour. Strategy is allowed! You’ll receive a personal scorecard at registration to record your own results (Honor System for everyone – monitors will certify scores for active JROTC cadets).

The 5 Stations

• One-Mile Run/Walk: Three separate heats (9:10, 9:30, 9:50 AM). Complete 4 laps around the Hoggard track. Starting gun and finish-line clock provided.
• Sit-Ups (Curl-Ups): 1 minute. A partner can hold your feet. Monitors will demonstrate proper form.
• Pull-Ups or Hang Time: 1 minute. Can’t do a pull-up yet? Record your hang time – every second counts and you’ll be cheered on!
• Shuttle Run: Two round-trip sprints (30 ft each way) while carrying a block. Heats run continuously.
• Push-Ups or Plank: 1 minute. Standard, knee, or plank – whatever works for you. It’s all about showing up!
