John Cox Memorial 5k Run

John Cox was a loving father, grandfather, husband, coach, and so much more. He was deeply cherished by everyone he met, known for his kindness, compassion, and selflessness. John passed away suddenly in 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love and support that touched many lives. Before his passing, John was actively involved in every aspect of his sons' and grandchildren’s lives. He was a familiar face at Concord University’s Track & Cross-Country events, where he made a lasting impact on athletes and coaches alike. From helping his wife, Maria, prepare pasta meals for the team, to assisting with running the discus events, John found joy in every moment spent with the athletes he supported. The John Cox Memorial 5K was created to honor his memory and support Concord University’s Track & Cross-Country athletes. All proceeds from the event will go towards purchasing books and helping these students achieve their academic goals.
